Happy 2018
As the clock nears midnight I lay in bed reflecting back on the previous year. 2017 has been one amazing year for growth, but I would be lying to leave it like that. This past year has also been incredibly challenging. After the initial sobriety “high” of self-discovery wore off I eventually found myself lost, fighting with who I once was and who I have become and began to question the why in regard to my own existence (this will be a future blog in itself). As I lay here now I begin to also ponder my resolutions for the new year in front of me. Each year I set up these resolutions to help guide my year and set goals for myself as many others tend to do. Going into 2018 at 477 days sober I choose to have a more positive mind with new resolutions that are a bit more different than previous years. This year, my main focus will be continuing my growth, discovering happiness from within and finding and (trying to) understand my own self on a much deeper level.
1. To love myself more and know my worth
2. Continue self-growth and development
3. To be more positive and to not let the negativity of the outside world affect me
4. To be more grateful in my everyday life – 365Grateful
5. To meditate daily and become more grounded
6. Learn to communicate better and be more efficient in doing so
7. To let go and move on
8. To accept without judgment
9. To be 100% myself and not care how others may perceive me
10. To seek happiness from within
11. Find a new passion to focus on again
12. To begin my blog and start blogging daily/writing is therapeutic
13. Take more photos
14. Go on more adventures (hiking/camping/etc.)
15. Set goals and find new life dreams
16. To be more confident in myself and my abilities
17. To worry and stress less
18. To better understand and work through my thoughts and feelings
19. To face my fears and insecurities
20. To help others and volunteer
21. To spend more quality time with the people I care about
22. To get out of my comfort zone, find new hobbies and meet new people
23. To unplug and be more in the now
24. To spend more time outside
25. To really smile and really laugh more
26. To continue my healthy lifestyle and journey of sobriety
A Happy New Year to all! May this new year of 2018 be a chance to reset, to learn, and to grow.
